ParticipantHi all,
One of my burners is burned out, so to speak. Don’t ask how… I don’t know: it just got noticed as being misshapen one day. My wife denies knowledge, but I suspect that she’d been lighting it with it not in place properly and the igniter constantly arcing or maybe a hotspot created by it’s mispositioning. She does have other good qualities however. I digress…
Parkinson Cowan customer care number directs you to ServiceForce for parts. They advise that the parts are no longer available, but sometimes a burner ring from another model (or manufacturer, even) may just fit.
The parts needed are (from the PC600 Simmaflame instruction book)
Intermediate ring auxiliary 6032546-01/9
Burner head auxiliary (brown) 6010587-01/9
[I think “auxiliary” just means “small” in this case as the larger burners are called “semi-rapid” and “rapid”]Seeing that you have supplied “similar” but adequate parts to other posters who have then registered their satisfaction, I hoped you might be able to help with this.
I could always send the misshapen ring and burner head by post if it would help to get a match.
Thanks in advance (with fingers crossed). Pete.
PS. Found the original receipt and it seems to have been bought in 1993.

6032546-01/9 is still available but the cap (6010587-01/9) isn’t I’m afraid and no suitable alternative 🙁
I can get the other part if required but if the cap is badly damaged ?
Dave.

Thank you so much Dave.
The cap is only discoloured slightly, but hasn’t changed shape so will still do it’s job adequately. I only really wanted it for cosmetic completeness.
The intermediate ring is badly misshapen and completely unsuitable for further use.
How do I progress this into a transaction?

Dave kindly ordered and supplied the original part which I received through the post today.
Very impressive service Dave, for which I am very grateful.
Thanks very much and all the best, Pete.
