    Hi.

My ADP 8224 is claiming an E7. Despite the fact that the handbook peters out at E6, I understand that E7 indicates that the unit can’t discharge its water. This would seem to be backed up by the 1.5 inches of smelly water lurking in the bottom.

I can’t find a blockage, and the pump works if I disconnect it from the unit and apply 240V to it.

Suggestions / tips would be much appreciated! Many thanks.

E7 is not no drain, it refers to the PCB looking for a component that wasn’t fitted to the appliance (flow meter).

Resetting normally does the trick, carry out a forum search for “reset” (without the quotes) in the dishwasher (drop down) forum:

Pick out the Diplomat, Hygena and Smeg one’s 😀

    Thanks Dave,

Bit of a struggle, but got there in the end.

I was never quite sure what the problem was. If I emptied the machine by hand, it would go through any of the programmes quite happily until it was time to pump out, at which point it would E7 again.

On taking it to bits for the umpteenth time, a piece of plastic fell out of the pump, I put the machine back together and its worked fine ever since.

Bit of a mystery really – I’m pretty certain that the offending piece of plastic was intermittently jamming the pump, and that it was nothing to do with the pump or any other part of the machine. Its anybody’s guess how it got past the filters.

Still, all’s well that ends well I guess ……………….
