Not my normal product but favour for a friend, I know forbidden territory ,
Fault all lights on left of door on together, fourth from left of right hand lights on.
Local Smeg agent called took sides & pcb off wriggled wiring about put it together again tested on rince said it was ok.
First use after he left started cycle got as far as opening dispencer then tripped RCD now will only show above fault code , any ideas please before I call tommorow.Regards

Unknown fault code but it sounds like the usual culprit of the dispenser coil short circuit or open circuit which goes along with it not openeing and taking the RCD out

Knew I shouldnt have got involved 😡 just come back to haunt me.
Fault still as before all lights on left hand side of door on, fourth from left of lights on right of door on, fault code in instruction book say’s E8 “anomily in water distribution”
top / bottom distribution valve was replaced in Jan.
Now all heated wash programmes fault out as above some time into cycle, water hot, dispencer door opened.
Cold programmes work correctly
No earth faults found, water levels correct
Any advice?

Odd one this, E8 certainly refers to the water diverter but if it’s been replaced 😕
Thinking about it though, how does the PCB know the diverter is faulty ? I can’t see any pressure switches or diaphragms anywhere in the water circulation area.
Is there a blockage anywhere or filters misplaced/missing as this can cause it according to Smeg’s tech info ?
