Initially I was wanting to find out if you can disable the salt and rinse aid lights if you are using 3 in 1 tablets. We have a couple of holiday cottages and for convenience we use 3 in 1 tablets but every other week we are being told by leaving guests that the dishwasher lights are on and needs refilling?

Although having looked at the forum I see that these are not recommended – are you recommending then to use the loose dishwasher powder or would the dishwasher powder alone in tablet form would be ok? Although I would not always be wanting to refill salt/rinse aid every week at changeover in high season – presumably if filled up and if dishwasher used every day, it will last longer than a week.

Would it be cheaper to fill up individually than using 3 in 1 tablets?

I don’t think the cost would be vastly different to be honest as the rinse aid and salt would need refilling far less regularly than on a weekly basis.

Tablet or powder is fine on the whole, stick to a good brand as well rather than the shop’s own 🙂

Fully topping up the salt container AND the rinse aid compartment will give you 3 WEEKS supply if the machine is used ONCE every day. In any case you cannot overfill either, therefore if you ensure you top-up whenever yours guests ‘change-over’, you will be OK 🙂

3 in one tablets “DO NOT DO WHAT THEY SAY ON THE TIN” by the way 😉
