Hi, Our machine is one year old too and tried to put ours on today and it is also coming up with “TEST” in the display panel too ❓ Ive tried knocking it off at the mains etc and still cant get rid of ” test ” from the display, It also does a cycle for a short a period and ends but does the same again when i push a wash button.
😥
Our machine is a Hotpoint WF840, If you get to fix this problem could you please let us now as if not other half and son will have to go to school and work in dirty clothes 🙂 I will do the same if i get to fix it, I have tried ringing hotpoint but i was on hold for 20 minutes and still no answer so i gave up 👿
Anyway, I hope we fix the problem soon as my other half will kill me as he says i over the load the machine and i broke it 😆

your machines are in “demo” mode, to deactivate press start/cancel button until all leds illuminate then press start cancel and on/off at the same time until “d off” is displayed, your machine will then fuction normaly

hi everybody,
i have just got up after nightshift and tried the “fix” and it worked .the wife is now happy .she reckons the only kid in our house is me !! ( i will not tell her that i did brush my hand over the control panel on friday and must have accidentally triggered “test mode”.)
thanks again for the advice. -
