Apart from internal leaks, you can get overflow due to using 3 in 1 or 4 in 1 tablets on this ‘Indesit’ machine. Advise the customer to use separate, detergent, rinse aid, salt.

it’ll also over fill if the filter is totally blocked up 😉

I have had customers that have never used the 3 in 1 tabs, kept the filter spotless etc. and still have this problem.
I was recently working at a customers house and she informed me that she was also expecting a Hotpoint engineer that day, to attend to her two month old Hotpoint d/w. His fifth visit for flooding. She had been advised on his previous visit to “just tip the appliance back to let the water run out, and then it would work. Knowing fine well that this amount of flooding would by now have made the circ. pump unsafe.(what a great design, the base floods and the circ.pump gets immersed)
At the time I had my megger in use on my repair so I gave her D/W a test. Yep, it was down to earth. I advised her not to attempt to use the D/W and to tell the Hotpoint engineer to take the apliance away and get the company to refund her money!!!!
I think this series of dishwasher have an inherant fault. The previous model had two overflow vents on the front lip, this model flooded so they changed the overflow to a “turret”. My opinion to this flooding is that I think water is being deflected of the crockery and hitting the overflow vent. This would explaing the irregularity of the fault.See this thread: http://tinyurl.com/74zka
