ParticipantHi again chaps,
January is obviously not a good month for the Bosch appliances in my household, last week it was the element on the tumble dryer & now it is the washing machine 🙁
Basically the machine didn’t empty itself fully last night & I am guessing that the pump needs cleaning but I cannot seem to be able to remove the pump cap. It will turn anticlockwise from 12 o’clock to approx 10 o’clock but I am guessing that it needs to go further than this in order to be removed, but as it is only made of plastic I don’t want to use too much force in case it breaks.
So the question really is has anybody got any tips/advice as to how to remove this cap without breaking it 😕Many thanks

It is possible that there is a coin stuck behind it. If you wiggle it quickly clockwise/anticlockwise you may be able to move it out of the way so it can be removed. Otherwise pump stripdown/ break filter cover!

Simon,
Can you tell me how far round the cap should turn i.e. should it come out with the handle at 9 o’clock or is it meant to turn more than thatCheers

Hi rungidung
Re your PM to me. The filter unit is available as a spare should you damage it. However it all depends what pump make is fitted. You will have to go and physically look for make on main body of pump to identify 😉
If its an Askoll make then you need 601996
If its a Copreci make then you will need 182430
Hope that clarifies it for you.Greg

Greg,
Having removed the stacked dryer & turned the washer onto its side I have found out that the make of the pump fitted is an Askoll.
Whilst it was tipped I decided to have a look at what was causing the problem so removed the hose going into the pump from the drum & as you can probably guess it was blocked solid with all sorts of stuff. After eventually clearing all this I managed to finally unscrew the cap & although the bit that you hold to unscrew it is a bit knackered, on puting it all back together the machine now appears fine again 😀
Do you know how much the replacement part costs as I am sure it will eventually fail at some point in the future especially if we check it on a more regular basis in the future 🙂Cheers

It’s called a ‘Fluff Filter Cap’ (part no : 601996) and costs around £5
Replacement available via emailing spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk 🙂

Cheers Martin & I will be sending an e-mail shortly. Also am I correct in assuming that BS51114 is the complete pump assembly for my machine?
