I have a Hotpoint larder fridge model RS60 and matching freezer (which I think is a RZ60). I want to stand the fridge on top of the freezer but according to my handbook I should get a Link Assembly kit. I have looked on the Hotpoint spares website and this is gonna set me back around £50.
Well, being as the fridge and freezer are quite old, although working well and no problems, I didnt really want to spend that much on it as I can get a newer second hand fridge/freezer for the same price. What I want to know is would it do any harm if I was just to stand the fridge on top of the freezer without the link assembly kit? Would appreciate any help/advice you could give.
Those are side by side link kits according to the Hotpoint description but I guess they come with various options given the rather ambitious price tag 😉
Safety is the main factor, making sure the fridge doesn’t get knocked off so I would secure it with something. In theory there is no reason why you can’t sit one on top of the other.
