I have a Tricity Bendix Compact dishwasher Model No. DH040. It is 10 years old and has always worked well.
In the middle of the rinse cycle it just stuck making the chugging noise that it does when it is draining. Moving the program dial on a click did not help. Opening the door did not stop the chugging. Tried pouring water in, this stopped the noise until it had drained the water but resumed when the water had gone.
Switched off the power and put the dial back to zero, switched on the power, machine then makes a rattlling noise.
I am hoping this is something simple. 🙁

The ‘Flood Protection’ switch has activated and as a result only the drain pump will operate. The baseplate will have water in it due to an internal leak. Turn off the power first, then tip the appliance slightly backwards (only backwards!) and see if any water comes out of the base?

    Thanks for your rapid reply.

Have tipped it up, no water came out.
    What else can I try?

Not a lot, best call in an engineer (see link below) to check it out 😉

    Re: Dishwasher fault – HELP

After a weekend of washing dishes by hand, last night I switched the dishwasher on an it started to fill. I filled it with dishes and it washed them perfectly.

    Any theories ❓
