ParticipantHi,
I (stupidly) attached the waste pipe without cutting a hole in the spigot, so the water couldn’t drain. Consequenly yhe dishwasher stopped halfway through the rinse cycle, and now I’ve fixed the waste pipe, it won’t restart. It’s button control only so I can’t advance/reset the program. Changing programs or turning on/off doesn’t help. There’s only a little window showing how far through the program it is.
How do I get it going or reset the cycle? When the waste was blocked, is it possible the pump burnt out, or would it have recognised the block and shut down?
Any advice gratefully received.February 5, 2006 at 11:14 am #163398Martin

If you just press the “Presoak/Prewash” programme button it should then advance to the end of the cycle for you to start again. Alternatively depress that same button and the last button on the r/hand side together (can’t remember what prog that is though?) and it will have the same overiding effect 🙂

Hi
I would imagine the base has water in it so if you remove the right hand panel and soak up the water as the flood switch has been activated.
It may also have activated the aquastop unit and that will require re setting.Greg

Morning to you Greg
The SPS6432 is the older mechanical timer model by the way 😉
If the “Aquastop” has activated, simply turn the water off, release the hose coupling, reconnect the hose and turn the water back on 8)

Thanks for help, have disconnected and reconnected inlet hose and also tried 2-button program as described, but cycle will not restart. Do I need to soak up all the water in the bottom? Is there a flood switch? Can’t see one.
ThanksFebruary 5, 2006 at 4:49 pm #163403Penguin45

Regret information so far is somewhat misleading. The switch bank is a selector for an electro machanical timer, so the “reset” procedure (for the digital machines) will not work. There is no aqua-stop fill hose on this machine.
Any water in the undertray needs to be mopped out, for electrical safety if nothing else.
Assuming that the machine was at least part way through the cycle when this happened, you could try selecting the prewash programme. This should advance the programme round to the end, allowing you to try restarting.
Power off if you are going inside.

The instruction manual has an Aqua-stop guarantee in the back.
I’ve now mopped the left-over water, put it in prewash mode, and still no joy. Is any other action required to reset the Aqua-stop unit – so far I’ve only disconnected and reconnected the inlet hose.
Thanks againFebruary 5, 2006 at 8:22 pm #163406superfix

Yeah Greg’s right there is an aqaustop on it.
Pressing the hottest wash and prerinse together will advance the prog to the end.
If you’ve got the water out of the base, and still no joy, then I would suggest it’s engineer time.
