Participantmy cooker hood has just stopped working.
its as if there is no power getting to it.
no lights, no extractor fan.
the hood was already installed when we moved into the house, so i have no idea how its wired in. there is no cooker hood switch in the main fuse box, so now i am stumped 😥
does anyone know if there is a fuse anywhere in the hood itself?
any help appreciated.

KeymasterIt’s fairly straightforward but will involve the use of a soldering iron from memory, power off totally to do it too.

look above the hood, there is often a 3 pin plug and socket on top of the kitchen cupboards. No one can ever find them. Ensure any replacement fuse is either a 3 or 5amp, if the fitter used a 13 amp fuse it will probably mean the switch, as above, is blown instead of the fuse.

ParticipantRe:Hygena app 2410 cooker hood Removal?
Hi all,
I have the same problem, i suspect the above listed part but i do have power to the unit as the light glows and sometimes the fan will start if i wiggle the buttons! but for love nor money i cant get the bloody cooker hood off of the wall to unplug it as some smart installer put the spur inside the upper part in the hood (where the air blows out of) im pretty sure i can clean the contacts of the push buttons if i could only get it powered down and out of the hood.
All i can see is two screws fixing the lower part to the wall, but this will not lift up as the top half (with the power inside) will not come away from the wall?? Am i missing something??
HELP!!!!!!

allways avoid trying to taken them down if you can , you end up dmg the paint or plaster or the grating to the tiles , turn the main power of at fuse box will be easyer. aka everything is dead , once dead you don,t need to removed the extractor to replace the pcb anyway.
you mayfind that u can just re soilder the joint thats losse or replace the pcb,
ps also handy to have a small gas soildering iron in those situations or a long extension lead if u 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure you have isolated aka turn off the power to the kitchen and oven+ oven socket and use a electric soildering ironSeptember 18, 2008 at 6:30 pm #163704Leeapole

Thanks for the info, im not to worried about the wall/tiles as it needs redecorating anyway, i just wanted to get the thing on my work desk to look at not hanging in the air over the cooker (tight for space) how would you go about removing the whole thing, or how do they go up and i’ll reverse?? i swear its stuck to the wall!!!
I’ll post pics soon i think, lol!!
Cheers,
Leigh.

Thanks KWATT for the link to the part.
Just ordered it and if anyone else is having the same problem, this will be the second replacement that I’ve ordered…perhaps not a great advertisement for the product, but I’m heartened that even these days it is still possible to replace the “bits” rather than have to rip the whole thing out, tiles, grout and all.
Just about to crawl around the basement to find the soldering iron that I bought 3 years ago to replace the last one!
