ParticipantHi
the subject header says it all really
We have a hotpoint twin tub and we are looking at replacing it soon
a fella who came in to do something about our kitchen. I mentioned that twin tubs were hard to get now. A lady he recently went to had a new twin tub which cost her about £600 I was surprised that you are able to get them as I have be doing web searching for a few days now
I found one at http://www.mobility-direct.co.uk/
but it doesn’t have the on board heater
anyone one got any ideas?Thanks

KeymasterI’m afraid that one’s Chinese, mostly plastic and utterly horrible. 😉
As far as I am aware there are no decent twin tubs available to buy at all now, only these things which are adapted from the Asiatic market to suit the UK. There’s no heater because over there they don’t use them.

Thanks for the reply
So it looks like moving with the times and getting one of the auto machines then I don’t know if that’s a good thing or not 😥
I can’t remember where I read it but it was said that the German ones are the best to get. May be wrong.
Don’t know a single thing about these new type of machine always had a twin tub only had to call out for sevice once in the whole time we’ve had it. It been easy to work my old twin tub all of the auto machines seem confusing to me I guess that whats put me off getting one.

KeymasterIf you can hang on for a bit we have the ISE coming at the end of the month and that’s really, really easy to use.
But yes, apparently there was not enough demand to support manufacturing twin tubs anymore as I think they only really sell in the UK, or sold, apart from the Asian market. Pity really insome ways as customers that had them seemed to love them and I know a lot of the guys here have fond memories of them.
