I have a New Vogue (G.C. No. 1181035) which I have had for 17 years , and until recently it has performed impeccably, but now the oven refuses to be regulated. It is either just on or full on. Is it worthwhile repairing or is it time for a replacement?

    Hi
Both the User’s Instructions and the Installation/Servicing Guide call it ‘The New Vogue’. The manufacturer is Valor Newome Ltd. of Prescot, Merseyside. I can’t see any other numbers.

Have you checked the rating plate (on the appliance- around the oven/door frame) as Dave suggested?

I can’t find anything around the doors, as you suggested. I pulled it out of it’s slot and found a plate riveted to the back, which had the maker’s name, a G.C. No. 11 810-35 and a serial no. 002125. That’s all I can see.

    Re: Oven Thermostat?

Valor became part of the Glen Dimplex group,. which owns Stoves, NewWorld and Belling

If you ring their parts line up and quote the GC number, they should be able to locate the part number for the thermostat and then be able to get you a price, if it isnt obsolete

    Their labour/callout charge is £79.90

Thermostat has failed, if the flame will go to “High Flame”, but burns food

If the oven flame cannot reach “High flame”, then its a flame safety device problem

    Whoppo,
Thanks very much for your reply. I will give them a ring and see if they have a new thermostat.
