I have an Iceline (Iceland) upright frost free freezer that has suddenly developed a fault whereby it does not get down to a correct operating temperature. It is still cold but not cold enough to freeze. Ice cream has gone soft but ice cubes have remained frozen.

We had a 1 minute power failure the day the fault deveoped; coincidence?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks guys.

How long has it been running like that after the power cut?

Quite often a power cut or spike will cause problems with the electronics or the compressor but this sounds like a compressor running weak which isn’t good news. 😕

24 hours, although I first noticed it after about 12 hours.

    hi

a common problem is that the door has been not fully shut or not sealed, turn the whole appliance off for 24 hrs with the door open and restart the freezer.

if the freezer then works without a problem then that would have been the cause.

if the fault returns then you will probably have a defrost or fan motor problem.

    hope this helps

    Thanks,

I’ll give it a go. Once I’ve re-started it what symptoms do I look out for to indicate whether it is a defrost problem or fan related?

    hi

if it is a fan or comperssor/systom problem then it wont get cold when switched back on.

if it runs and goes back to normal then after about 7-10 days it fails again then that would normally be due to a defrost system fault.
