    Evening All,

    Would be grateful for a bit of advice as the machine is doing nothing; the display just shows “Hoover inter@ct Welcome!” plus the time since the unit was switched on.

    Apart from that nothing happens – I believe it may have had an error code the last time it was used successfully and although the water had been drained the clothes hadn’t been spun.

    I have been through the hoover posts but none seem to be of help (on this occasion) as no error code is displayed. The error code it may have showed may have been “error 4” but as mentioned I’m not too sure.

    The serial number is AAA140-01 37615945 0130 (I think) if that’s of any help.

    Thanks, in advance, for your help with this as the absence of an operating washing machine has a considerable effect on domestic bliss.

    To cancel the previous programme, press and hold the “Start/Pause” button until “Programme Cancelled” appears in the display window.

    Thanks Martin,

    One of the previous posts recommended this and I had tried this for 10 – 20 seconds.
    Nevertheless I tried it again (to make sure), for a couple of minutes last night, but unfortunately it still shows the same “welcoming” message on the display.

    There are a couple of engineers in our area from this website so all’s not lost but if there is something else to try to at least see an error code I’m all ears!

    Meh! If I were in your shoes, I’d use some kind of trebuchet, or humongously over-sized ballista! 😆

    It’s engineer time, unfortunatly!

    Another thought occurred to me, in that I wonder if the door switch is engaging correctly?

    Unless the door closes and the door switch engages, it will show the welcome message forever and a day I recon’ 😉

    Thanks for your help with this and if I didn’t work with renewable energy/waste disposal, involving the Environment Agency so much, it would look good in some deserted layby!

    The point about the door is something I have considered but according to my wife it would show up on the screen if the door was open, unfortunately I can’t confirm whether this is actually the case.

    As you said an engineer is required at this stage but appreciate all your comments thus far.

    If I do manage to find out the cause I will get back to you and hopefully it will benefit others in the future.
