ParticipantIs it just coincidence or is everyone getting a lot of calls regarding these dishwashers?
Had 12 last week, all tripping the RCD, all using 3 in 1.
If I knew what was the solution I could make a mint.February 21, 2006 at 10:45 am #166207leavemetogetonwithit

Is 3 in 1 some kind of tablet?(I thought it was oil).
Anyway, is this the overflow leading to flooded base leading to soaked motor syndrome? Or something else entirely?

Overflow issue, but why are they overflowing?

If the tablet is not dissolved correctly then it’s still actually foaming on rinse, add to that if the customer has used rinse aid in addition and you end up with an overfoam/overflow.
This is not at all uncommon with tablets.

just a point to remember. Some people actually do not rinse the plates properly that causes the filter as well as the drain and/or motor to block and hence water would stay in the dishwasher and also overflow. That is the poblem i had with few customers.Besides the indesit /hotpoint Builtin dishwashers first from left light will blink meaning the overflow as occured.

Here we go again, this subject seems to have reared its head a few times recently.
The top and bottom of it is that this series of D/W is so poor in its design, and Indesit/Hotpoint know it. They must be able to see the call rate their engineers are doing to these models.
They changed the first attempt of the over flow system (two vents at the front of the tub) only to replace it with the “turret”. A splash guard over the turret may go a long way to resolving the problem. Why have an antiflood system that immerses the motor?, the motor and all electrics should have been designed to be above the flood level.See this link for past info

Can anyone shed any light on an overfilling issue I have been unable to resolve on an Ariston AS100 slimline dishwasher, which I think is the same basic type as discussed here? There are signs of persistent overflow into the base. Once the machine has stopped filling and the door opened, the water level is about 1 cm deeper than normal and lapping at the holes in the overflow “turret”. I have previously replaced the pressure switch and pressure hose and today I replaced the sump (in case of blockage in the pressure chamber) but neither has made any difference. The filters and spray arms are clear, and it’s clearly not a detergent issue as there is no foam.

If you check the later models on indesit/ariston they now have a blanked out holes in overflow “turret” obviously because it was a Crap design, I have blanked this hole after taking advise from an Ariston engineer but you run the risk of machine flooding ‘your gamble at the end of the day” thats unless anyone else without Doubt has got the permanent fix/cure to this problem.
