When the program requires the machine to take in water, it continually fills up, until it floods the powder drawer and floods the kitchen. this happens with all washing programs.

    The machine will drain ok.

Any ideas or suggestions gratefully appreciated, thank you.

Water level control faulty. Airhose may be detached/blocked/holed; air chamber may be choked, level switch may be faulty.

Power off if investigating, click the link below for a engineer if you’re not confident.

what was up with my caged suggestion ? i made it clear im not an engineer.

my own fault was a faulty valve (albeit a hot inlet valve). replacing it fixed the problem.

Our first obligation is toward public safety! If you post dangerous pratices, they will be deleted, simple. I don’t see the conflict of interests, and your welcome to post again, just think safety first 😛

Re: Indesit Evolution 1600 WE165 Continually fills with wate

Thanks again for help (this is the wife typing), I had removed the cold water hose to put some PTFE tape around the seal as there was a small leak. It seems that I’ve caused an airlock somewhere in the system, when I replaced the cold water hose as the machine is still filling up with water.

Any ideas on how to remove the airlock? I’ve checked the pressure levels etc. everything else is ok.

    Cheers.

These machines do not suffer from airlocks!

If your machine fills when it is switched OFF, then the fault is the water inlet valve within the machine needs replacing. If however your machine continues to fill and overfill whilst it is ON, then the fault is the water level sensor system within the machine. (As originally suspected by Penguin45 earlier 😉 )

    Thanks Martin

The machine does fill only when switched on.

Any ideas if I will need to replace the water level sensor system? Is it a simple job for a DIY novice and is this part easy to obtain?

    Cheers

Simple and inexpensive job for a local engineer and would eliminate any chance of mis-diagnosis as there are a number of causes , pointed out previously.
