ParticipantHi,
Can anyone recommend some good makes and models for vented tumble dryers. Have had 2 condenser dryers in the last 4yrs and have given up on them, both in terms of reliability, time and noise issues when drying.
I don’t know if this will cause a problem but the out side wall is about 3m from the dryer. The pipe that I have installed from the outside to where the dryer is has got a slight gradient on it so that water will not build up. I think this should work but am unsure if it will affect the dryer.
Desperate not to have another condenser dryer.Any advice + recommendations greatly received
Thanks.

Hi
Whirlpool , Bosch and Miele.
Depending on your budget re Miele, obviously is the top brand.Greg

Thanks for reply,
Bosch and miele are out of my price range. I know from reading around here that this won’t be popular but as I have a max budget of £150, after having just recently had to by a new washer and yes I did manage to stretch to a bosch (wfl2067 classixx 1000), very happy with it so far.
So Iam afraid it restricts me to makes like hotpoint, zanussi, hoover and indesit. After looking at them yesterday, the best of a bad bunch seems to be the zanussi td4113w. But have had bad experience with zanussi in the past so not sure if the hover hnv160 or Hotpoint vtd00 would be a better choice. Has anyone got any experience of these, it needs to be quiet if this is possible.
Thanks

The Hotpoint VTD00 is probably the best out of those to be fair. they are relatively quiet and spare parts are readily available at a reasonable cost too. Another model to consider is the White Knight 447WV which is made by Crosslee who manufacture in the region of 30{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the tumble dryers currently on the UK market.
If you can stretch that little bit more then yes the Bosch range.HTH

Thanks Don,
Have found a bosch wta4108 exxcel for a good price, only prob is that in the instructions it mentions that the vent pipe should be no longer than 2m, however the pipe I have put in is about 3.5m by the time it reaches the back of the dryer. Is this going to damage the dryer or seriously affect its performance? The pipe is rigid and has a slight downward slope to the out side to avoid water collecting.

Hi
You may get condensation forming in the vent hose due to the length ie water build up in hose which may find a path back to appliance. If length is an issue why not use a condensor box which fits onto the end of the vent hose ❓Greg

Have come across maytag dryers, any good?

Maytag and Whirlpool excellent dryers. Venting length may still be a problem though unless you use a commercial appliance.

Thanks for reply Greg,
Will probably go with the bosh (as it matches my washer) and see how the venting through the pipe goes as it is already in place. It comes with a 28 day trial period so if it doesn’t workout I will go for a bosh condenser.
