A friend of mine has just phoned me. He has ordered the seals for both doors on this built in unit. He is now stuck, asking me how he fits them. It is donkeys years ( and the rest ) since I fiited a fridge door seal, in those days you had dozens of screws or rokut rivets securing the seal with the door liner. How do you you refit the seals on this fridge/freezer?

Anyone??? He has just phoned back to say that he has taken the doors off 🙂 . Are these seals/door liners glued in place ?

I think this may be the same case as a lot of manufacturers where the seal is shown as a spare part but in reality cannot be fitted, only the whole door is the solution in those cases 🙁

Thing is, they have actually sent him the seals. ❓ Logically, you would think that it would follow that they can be changed. Looking at my Hotpoint door seals they do appear to be secured under the lip of the door seal with a groove in the liner corresponding with a ridge in the seal. I didn’t try to remove a part of the seal to check for certain in case I damaged it. I wonder if they can be prised out ?

That said, logic and commonsense do seem to be in short supply these days. 😥
