Our 18 month old zanussi washer-dryer has recently started spewing water from the detergent dispenser drawer in the first few minutes of the wash starting – I have opened the drawer slightly when the water starts leaking, & it seems like the water is just running out of the drawer unit & down the front of the machine {quite a lot of water in fact, takes a bath towel to clean up!}. Any advice gratefully received! 😆

A good clean out of the drawer and the compartment it fits into is something to do on a regular basis. If your hot water is supplied via a combi boiler and you have a high mains pressure then you could try reducing the hot & cold flow into the machine a little using the two taps at the end of the fill hoses. Try and achieve a nice steady flow, not a gushing, hissing sound.

Thanks for the tip on the mains pressure, hubby thinks it is that, as he replaced the old lead pipe coming into the house from the mains, with a new plastic pipe a few weeks ago, & that may have increased the flowrate into the house. So we will turn the washing machine tap down & cross fingers that is the solution! 😀
