Hi everyone please excuse this newby for getting straight to the point……problem is…..our fridge freezer has started to give problems and SWMBO is giving me grief about all our food in there, that is about to to visit the dustbin!

We have had the freezer for about 8 years and upto now it has been reliable. This evening I removed the lower cover and hoovered out the cobwebs!

This seems to have got things working again, but I can’t help thinking I could be claiming off my household insurance soon! So can anybody help me here please……..Do I trash the freezer or do I get an engineer in to fix it?

I’d start by having a read of this:

Possibly the world’s definitive Mistral thread…… See if your symptoms match anything listed and you’ll get some idea of what will be involved.

Thanks for your reply Penguin45…..Yes I did look at this thread earlier, I was wondering also if the freezer did a self diagnostic display by pushing the buttons in some sort of sequence?

That would be handy if it did……also failing that do you know of any good engineers in the Romford area?

    Regards….aero
