This is an approx 20yr old Miele G522 dishwasher. It now sticks twice during the cycle (at the main wash and final rinse but continuing to wash) and fails to heat the water at all or dry at the end. If the switch is clicked on manually it moves on with the cycle to the next stick or the end.
I’ve tested the heater element and the thermostat and believe they are OK.
Should I replace the relay or is it something to do with the timer ?
Can anyone recommend a place which sells parts a lot cheaper than Miele !?
Re: Miele G522 dishwasher not heating, sticks during wash cy
many older Miele’s have a high pressure pressure switch that prevents the heater from coming on if the circulation pump has failed. The tube leading to this and the switch itself often gets blocked up with grease preventing it from operating, hence no heat. I cannot tell if your model has this or not and its not really a diy job. Power off before looking.

The circulation pump seems to be working as the water is sprayed around inside OK. It just gives a cold wash !
I found another thread about a G575 machine in this forum which had this grease problem but the heater did come on in the dry part of the cycle. This is what makes me think the problem lies elsewhere
