    i have an Indesit 1600 evo and it keeps coming up with the word DOOR on the screen, i have taken the pressure switch off and blew into it “care was taken of the electrics” and the machine started, only for a few seconds. Whilst keeping pressure on switch i waited to see if the machine would start its cycle and nothing happened, then it came back with DOOR again
    The machine is 2 years old and it’s a WE16
    Any help would be worth its weight in GOLD

    Basically, it thinks that the door isn’t locked – programme will not operate with door in unlocked condition. Check this when “DOOR” appears. If it opens, the lock may well have failed. If the door is locked, the problem will lie in the electronics.

    We don’t condone live testing, please don’t do it!

    Thank’s for such a quick reply,
    But this does’nt solve the problem as the door is locked firmly, it will only open when i switch the machine off and wait a couple of minute’s.
    thanks for you concern over live testing ,to mind put your mind at rest this is all part of my working day as i’m an Electrician.

    the problem is that my wife is now giving me a head ache because she has no washing machine and i’m reluctant to get anyone to look at it because of the cost and i have always repaired any domestic item we have but this seem’s to have beaten me,
    i just wish i knew about this forum along time ago.

    Cheers for your help and i hope you or someone else can help me out with this small dilemma.

    Computer problems – blown tracks, dodgy connections, processor fault all possible.

    its ok now
    my wife and i went out this morning a purchased a new machine
    if you know if anyone out there who is looking for some spares please email me.
    I will be putting the motor, pump , door and others on e-bay
