ParticipantHi,
A friend of mine has just taken over a large pub that is mainly carpetted & she is looking for a reliable upright vacuum cleaner with easily attachable accessories if possible for cleaning the staircase.
She has had a Kirby & despite it being expensive to buy & maintain it was not good enough for the job. Many thanks

The Sebo are very good (and expensive 😕 ) vacuums. Especially for commerical situations.
I’d also recommend an Oreck, though these don’t come with the attachments, but they are very light-weight.

Thanks for the reply “Goatboy”. When you say the Sebo’s are expensive how expensive eg more than the Kirby?
I will have to have a look at both of these makes & see who sells them as I am not familiar with either of them.Cheers

KeymasterAvoid this then…
I have a Sebo at home and it is superb, far better than the mucky coloured thing that it replaced. 😉

Ken,
Did you have that “commercial” Dyson at home or are you referring to a domestic mucky coloured thing!! The Constanmax doesn’t appear to look any more robust than the domestic versions.Cheers
Clive
PS I take it you didn’t make it down to Birmingham last weekend.

The last Sebo I got was £250.
I’m not sure about the Oreck.
Because of the location of my shop, I only tend to cruddy little things for £50 – £75 🙁

KeymasterNo I didn’t have one of those, Dave was telling me that your conclusion of it isn’t far wrong in his opinion.
I couldn’t possibly tell what cleaner I had in case a certain person decides to have me in court for daring to hold an opinion of his products that was less than exemplary as that certain person did to Which. 😉

Ken & Goatboy,
Having had a look at the Sebo commercial machines on their website they certainly seem the business. So the next question is does anybody have any recommendations as to where to purchase one from, assuming my pub friend likes it 🙂Cheers

I can get most of the Sebo range Clive.
Let me know which model numbers you are interested in and I’ll see what I can do 🙂

Cheers Dave,
I am guessing that the model my friend would want would be the Sebo BS46 which appears to be the largest of the commercial range. I will obviously need to check with her but some prices on the cleaner & accessories would be very usefulMany thanks

The accessory hose seems to be particularly short; the machine has a tendency to topple over…
