    I own a AEG Favorit 65050 V1 dishwasher.

I have read an article that says that – ‘Even if using a 3in1 tablet in machine you should still add salt to water softener’.

My AEG manual says – ‘Do not use salt if using a 3in1 tablet’

    Slightly confused 😕

    Any advice?

If you are in a hard water area then you probably will still need to add salt regardless of the detergent you use. There is an article on how the softening system works here

Essentially the detergent (3-in-1’s etc) employs a component known as builders to remove the calcium content from the water, but there’s only so much that can be put in there to do that job and so they will only cope up to a point.

    Hope that helps.
