ParticipantI’m hoping you can help my Whirlpool Generation 2000+ – Model G2P DWI/1 WH.
I have noticed that after and wash cycle the dishes don’t seem to be that clean and dry.
The machine seems to be working fine, but after keeping an eye on the dishwasher cycle I have now noticed that the water is not getting hot.Any ideas (is this going to be expensive 😥
Many thanks

It’s probably the NTC but generally you would see an error code displayed by way of a light flashing and/or beeping.
If you use the forum search and narrow it down to the dishwasher forum only and search for “ntc” (without the quotes). All the Whirlpool, Bauknecht and some of the Diplomat posts all relate to this problem 🙂

Many thanks for your reply,
I have searched through forum for NTC and it appears that other people seem to have flashing lights and bleeping sounds.
My dishwasher must be strange as it works like normal but during or at the end of the cycle you would expect the water to be hot but it is cold all the time, it seems to fill and drain fine.Is it best that I call an engineer out (Whirlpool £72.50 + Parts) or can the NTC (is this part expensive) be replaced as a DIY.

Also how does the NTC work with regards to the hot water
Hope you can help
Thanks

You can see/buy the part here 🙂
If you’re unsure on fitting, you should be able to find an engineer from the repairs@ link below.
If you call an engineer, I would let him make a correct diagnosis and order the correct part just in case it isn’t the NTC 😉

Many thanks for your reply Dave,
I know that it is a difficult one to answer, but out of 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} how likely is it to be the NTC, and any idea of where abouts it is located as I might have a look tonight to make sure all wires seem to be connected or would this be a waste of time.
Thanks again
Ian
P.S. I might just take the chance if it is easy to changeMarch 14, 2006 at 6:29 pm #169413Dave_Conway

At a guess I’d say 75{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} as it’s a very common failure 🙂
The other threads on the same subject will help in locating and fitting etc, just remember to unplug ! :zap:
I edited your post and changed a word in the PS to “chance” as the word you used is on our banned list due to spammers and was blocked so it made little sense, hope you don’t mind 😉
