Thanks for all the great material on this site. I’ve figured out how to use diagnostics, and am getting error 1001. I’ve replaced the Display Module today as the old one had some shattered LEDs and corroded tracks on the back. I have been through the Option Adjustment Mode which appears to be working correctly. Any suggestions?

    Cheers,

    SydneyBoy

00001001? Size error. Usual cause is the display module plungers not being located correctly. Remove and relocate, ensuring the switches are aligbed correctly.

    Power off, of course.

I’ve relocated the display module a couple of times and checked the plungers. It all seems correct. I also tested the washing machine with the display module out of the console (sitting on the lid). The results are the same, error code 00001001. I’ve been through option adjustment mode a couple of times and pulled the inner bowl out to check and clean it all. The only other strange thing is that when I rotate the bowl it appears to be evenly bumping over something underneath, almost as if something was rubbing on the motor coils. I haven’t looked underneath yet as I have to empty and move a freezer first. Any suggestions?

Re: Error code 9 on SmartDrive 703

    Cody,
It’s a GW703, phase 3, white panel, green and yellow buttons. It should have a green controller with water cooling. 12v 15ohm valves, reed switch lid switching and a Selni pump.

As you should know as an F+P employee.

If you don’t have the correct technical info, please stop guessing at what may be going on with these appliances.

Your latest post tells SB how to put the appliance into the Option Adjustment Mode – utterly irrelevant to a machine which has a set-up problem or possibly a faulty board.

Get it together or please stop posting advice – we can – and will – moderate your posts.

    Regards,
    Penguin45.

hi silvercody here, thats ok if its a green one ,but as u might know so techs r lazy and dont use the right parts, they use other ones that will work aswell,so 703 sometimes does mean nothing.. if its a green one to set the size is different as a yellow so i was only asking what colour it was so that the right info is giving..as for that funtion i told him..in the f & p handbook it says when replacing a motor controller or touch panel u must push and hold the start button then together push power button for it to reset…anyway was just trying to help , because this is easy for him to do with out spend any $$$$

The Display Module case is mustard yellow but the circuit board is green. Why don’t I try the reset procedure for the other Display Module, just in case. It might save the drama of moving the dryer and freezer tomorrow, just to get at the base of the washing machine.

silvercody here ,iam not sure what u mean ,do u mean the other one as your old one or the new one ,,also iam not sure if putting a yellow display panel into a green motor controller would work iam sure that they have to be the same colour.

The Display Module case is yellow but the Display Module circuit board is green. The Motor Controller case is also yellow, and the circuit board is yellow. I don’t know if it makes any difference, but you guys are the experts. I’m hoping that you guys have a flash of brilliance so that I don’t have to empty and move the freezer tomorrow.

hi silvercody here,if the fault code 9 is coming up it means the size is wrong….push & hold wash temp down then together push the power button all lights will come up then push the spin button so that the green light is hold then push power button..

I think I’m running out of options. I’ve been through silvercody’s button sequence, gone into and out of Option Adjustment Mode, tried the sequence again, taken the washer apart (I think the strange bumping is just the motor rotating between the magnets at low speed). I’ve cut out the lid switch (which may be corroded) tried it open and short circuit (no response), tried going into Diagnostics mode to test the lid switch – no response…. Any advice gratefully received.

Suspect you’re right – it’s difficult with remote diagnosis, we can’t see what you’re working on. Time for pro help? Sometimes you’ve just got to bite the bullet and do it.

    Good luck,
    Penguin45.

    Hi All,
iv been dismantling F + P machines and rebuilding some for friends
Im very impressed with the intelegence in design.
I have used a motor as a wind genny.
I was after circut diagrams for the pcb’s
i would like to understand how they work and modify
one to control a motor on low voltag for an electric

Re: Error code 9 on SmartDrive 703

F+P only offer schematics for the overall machine – there are not layouts for the actual control boards. What I can tell you is that it’s a DC, 3 phase motor with 42 poles. By selecting and ganging together different combinations of poles, the different speeds for the machine are achieved.
