ParticipantI have had this dishwasher for about 5 years.
The machine makes all the usual noises until it is time to fill, when a valve clicks to allow water in, but nothing happens. I have pulled the machine out, and the section which the water supply pipe is connected to – I assume this is the water inlet valve – is vibrating – this disappears when the power is switched off.
There are no kinks in the hose.
i have read a number of posts regarding locking out of water valve; IWMS and filters. Are any of these more applicable to this case or is it a matter of working through each?
regards

Almost certainly an IWMS problem, Lee. The pressure shut off on the inlet valve is being held shut by the “overfill” situation caused by the IWMS. You can clear out the transfer pipes across the lower front of the machine as they do get clagged up, but the problem will almost certainly be a blockage in the IWMS – if you can see black sludge low down in the matrix it will have to be replaced.
P/no is 1524624-03/6, about £55 from memory. An email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for confirmed pricing and ordering.
BTW, do not put your finger on the valve with the power on… Being polite, it’s bloody dangerous…..
So, power off, please.

I think I’ll need some professional help in for this. I haven’t had any time to sort it out.
Who is the best to do this kind of repair and how much would I expect to pay for the parts and labour?regards

Penguin mentioned the likely cost of the part above, it’s around £50-£60 😀
For an engineer, click on the repairs@ link below, labour varies quite a bit to be honest regionally but can be discussed directly with the engineer.

I seem to have the same issue – how do you access the IWMS to replace it?
Thanks
