ParticipantHi folks
In trouble again and need your expertise.
Bosh D/Washer slim line enclosed base type – won’t empty – can hear pump working – checked for blockage in drain hose/pipes but appears to be clear.
Fill it with water and cancel program- pump comes on and won’t empty. Remove the return pipe attached to water fill tank, and reattach it and m/c empties? –
Haven’y removed pump as this looks and sounds clear but also looks a pain to take off – is it?
Also can’t see where return/drain pipe fits to sump – this looks loke a pain to get to aswell.
Give me an open base type ay day!! – This sounds like some sort of wierd blockage but is baffling me at the moment due to accesibility. Don’t want to spend ages taking of bits if no need.
Hope you might have some suggestions on this one – thanks

Hi
Possibility that the impeller has become detached from motor shaft.
No easy way to do this just appliance on its back and slacken base enough for you to get at drain pump. It is on this model a twist and lock thankfully, remove and inspect. Failing that you will have to check internal empty hose starting from sump to L/H tank.
God luck 😉

Going back to remove and inspect pump although I don’t think it is the impella as the ones Iv’e had that have broken usually rattle slightly and this one sounds ok but there mifght be something in pump chamber or outlet athough seems quite wierd as when I drop sump hose of from tank it pumps out ok… still as no futher replies looks like it is a flap type blockage somewhere in sump hose or pump chamber.
Is the sump hose (non tank end) a pain as I couldn’t see where it went to. Can I get to it if I just drop the base slightly or do I have to take the base of completely?
This job is in a pokey kitchen so not relishing to much of a strip down 🙁
Thanks

Its a great job.
Ideal way is on its back on workmate so you know squinting and back aching.
Just drop the base enough to gain access.Greg

Been back to this one today
Removed pump – pump ok ( thought it was as there was no rattle – typical broken impella) but noticed a non return valve at back of sump where sump hose fitted.. looked a pain to get to but gave it a gentle poke with screwdriver and flushed though by sucking and blowing water through (making sure I didn’t get a mouthfull – yukkk..). Seems ok now.
Suspect head of water left in drain tube in water tank causing flap to stick..
Anyone else had this problem?..
Just hope it doen’t happen again or looks like a flap change.. Does this come with the sump hose or is it a seperate item.. or can you just remove it altogether (shades of the Hotpoint no return pump valve) ?
Thanks

Had same problem other day on full size bosch..You need to remove sump
drain outlet hose to side tank. and clean ..lay machine on its back..remove all 4 base screws..and front springs from nylon cords to door..base will lower enough to get access..this worked for me good luck
