Hoover inter@ct fridge freezer – the sequel

Having finally got the fridge fixed last May (it was the PCB that was the problem) it has been working reasonably well…until this weekend.

The fridge has defrosted completely and is not getting cold. The freezer appears to be working but not at the temperature it should be. Interestingly there are no error messages on the display panel so no clues from the machine as to what has gone wrong. However there was a sound like rushing water from the unit on Sunday. I have tried switching the unit off completely to see if the electrical controls need resetting but it makes no difference.

Grateful for any clues as to what may have gone wrong and whether it is repairable. If it is the PCB again I guess as the current PCB is less than a year old it might be under guarantee, however that would still leave us with a callout charge. The temptation is to scrap it and buy a new machine. I do feel three and a half years with one major repair already is a poor performance. I’m not impressed with Hoover and won’t be buying that make again. Suggestions more more reliable makes in same price range appreciated.
