how to fix a belt back

    hi i have just looked under my washing machine and the belt was on the floor does anyone have any pictures or advice on how to fix one back on my washer is a indesit w123 thanks claire

    claire,have a good look at the belt,and check if it is damaged.There must be a reason why it came of.The belt might even be fine but the bearings is gone and the drum moved and the belt then came of.If that is the case you will need an engineer.Very rare that the belt just comes of by itself.tintin

    The belt used on most of the recent Indesit machines are like most machines of today, ‘stretchy belts’ that is to say the belt is not adjustable but relies on its elasticity to remain in situ. It is not uncommon for these belts to come adrift on Indesit machines. Refitting will be a temporary cure, a new belt is your best option.

    Also make sure the drum revolves smoothly, small socks or similar jammed in the drum can throw the belt off.

    Remove plug at all times.
