ParticipantAny joy on the spares front after yesterdays meeting. This hold up is putting me off getting into the full swing of things. Only ordered two machines to date.
Still waiting for DVD & information pack, forms etc & anything else relevant.March 23, 2006 at 3:07 pm #170616admin

The spares meeting yesterday determined that an unknown person hasn’t done their job correctly. Therefore someone in CDA has cocked up, they have not had delivery of the spares yet, due to a mix up between Turkey and themselves.
CDA who are handling the spares storage and handling are trying to resolve this asap, and we are scheduled to revist them 1st week in April.
In the meantime should a requirement occur a new product will be stripped to get us out of a hole. If you receive an intervention on an appliance you have sold, phone in the spares requirement (its quicker that way) to 0845 226 1268 and we’ll sort out the spare for you. This is to be a short term in the light of the problem. The existing DVD is applicable to the Pre Production model and that gets updated next week, the technical data gets updated on Thursday, therefore alowing a day to get them onto a disc we should have those ready to post put by Monday 3rd April.
We are putting together the bits and pieces that make up point of sale and engineer leave behinds, again we are hoping to have more to report on that by the end of next week.

ParticipantRe: Spares
Hi – I have a few questions to ask about the van stock which is supplied.
Will the van stock include a tub rear half and seal?
Is the spider / drum support renewable (seperate from the drum) and is one supplied?
Is a replacement motor supplied?
Thanks

The initial van stock included both tub seal, spider (yes it is removeable) and a motor and set of carbons.
Can’t stretch to a tub rear though, although we are doing bearing kits negating the need for a tub rear in many cases.

ParticipantRe: Spares
If one could be supplied initially, it would make it possible to have one to recyle, ready fitted with new bearings and seal making the rear half change quicker and easier.
Any problems encountered (bearing outer left in housing etc) are usually much easier to deal with in the workshop.
There may be times also when a new tub is required due to worn housing, cracking or leakage between the tub and bearing housing liner.
If it is out of the question to supply this in the van stock due to cost, maybe one could be purchased at cost for the engineers convenience and replaced by ISE if an event arose where the tub has to be replaced.
Can you also clarify the proceedure for replacing spares that are used from the van stock. Do we have to order them or will parts be automatically replaced from the job details.

The only thing I’d say Andy is that I hope we’re not changing many, if any, given the size of the bearings we spec’d.
There is obviously a cost issue for van stock and I’d certainly not be looking to use the likes of that until later in the machine’s life so I’d hope you won’t be needing one for a while yet.
As for replacing stock I’d ask that you reorder as you would for anyone else with a note of the job number that the part to relates to on it. That way it’s a lot easier and more efficient for us to restock you.

OK thanks for the info, i hope you are right about the bearings because they are not my favourite job especially on centre split tubs.

Just so everyone understands the “van stock” situation.
The spares are in effect underwritten by CDA, not ISE. You guys and ultimately the consumer pay for the 5 year parts as part of the package, ie £389.99 or £449.99.
Therefore our effective buying in price from CDA includes the parts liability. If the “buy in” price to CDA of an engineers van stock is £200.00 and we have 150 engineers wanting one, well thats £30,000 of CDA money floating around on your vans. Whilst their concerns are noted we are talking to them at the moment about the problem.
We have got a decent spec to the van stock, we can not add rear halfs, as the cost outweighs the benefit, there’s also an issue with carrying it on your van, not putting it in your garage.
As and when we need to adjust van stock we will and DC will be monitering all usage to fine tune it where it needs tuning.
Remember this is new to all of us, we are making progress and over the next three weeks will sort out many of the issues raised in the ISe forum.
