i have an old [ nearly antique! ] crosslee drier but under the name of carlton. It is best part of 20 years old but until recently was going strong.I t then stopped heating in low or high setting.I think it is probably a stat problem but there is no reset – too old ! lol Are these still available? how easy is it to change and what the hell does it look like???
It is the carlton 4500 type number 0320 450 15000, and the motor is 2500w If anyone has a manual on it, i would love a copy. thanks in advance,

    Re: crosslee drier

It’s more likely one half of the element has failed to be honest.

    Good dryers these were 🙂

You can see the element here:

    Power off before proceeding :zap:

    Re: crosslee drier

thanks for the post dave. you are right , it has been a great machine seeing how little i paid for it all those years ago! . I was phoned today by crosslee-I had thought it was the overheat stat- a bi- metallic coil [?]. given that both heat settings were kaputt. They are sending it out so will let you know if this cures the prob
    cheers
