ParticipantFollowing a power cut this machine has the door lock light flashing and won’t enter into any programme. I have trawled through the topics and it appears the control board may be damaged (the switch tests OK).
Question 1 – are these repairable (I have a fair knowlegde and ability in electronics)?
Question 2 – does a new control board require any special configuring or is it a straight swap?
Question 3 – It is still covered by Hotpoints parts only warranty, is it worth just getting them to do the repair (from a cost point of view)?
Best regards

A. 1. Yes, but not easy without a test rig.
A. 2. Yes they do need configuring.
A. 3. Hotpoint’s labour is just under £90.00 New board is around £77.00
Your call. 😉

Very likely it will need a new Control Module AND Door Interlock. The cost of these 2 parts combined is around £95 to buy from Hotpoint.
Repairs to the Control Module are not recommended and Hotpoint charge around £90 for call-out.

Thanks iadom for your quick reply.
Do you know what is involved in configuring the board? I have found one on ebay (genuine part apparently) for £40 with P+P. For this price I will just do a straight replacement if I am able to do the configuration part.
Thanks again

I would save your money, a power cut may not have damaged the board.
My advice would be to get a reputable local independant engineer to have a look. If you stick a board of dubious parentage 😉 in from E Bay and mess up your machine, your five year warranty is out the window.
It may not even need a new board.
click on the link in my sig to see if we have someone in your area who can help.
Sorry for the slow edit. The forum is a real pain tonight. 😥
