hi, could anyone help me… my dryer has started making a scraping noise… it did this before… within the first 12 months. i had it repaired 3 times for different thing… when i opened it up i can see the drum has moved on one side, so one side is touching the back pannel… is it an easy problem to fix?? thanks for any help 😥

    hi

these machines have had many modifications over the last 18 months

the basic problem is the drum is very close to the back panel (about 3-4mm)

these machines are very flimsy in construction so the first thing is to make sure the machine isnt twisted in any way(nothing heavy on top) and is level.

the modification that i found worked best was to fit a set of sticky backed felt pads to the rear panel of the drum where it is rubbing (sorry i cant remember part number but they used to come as singles so you will need to order 4 of them)

the repair dosnt stop it rubbing it just puts somthing between the drum and rear panel to stop the noise

the longer drum shaft kit never seemed to work very well

It may be that the rear bearing shaft has snapped. Remove the plug and take of the back panel. You can see the end of the shaft there. If it has worn through the small square bearing block, or indeed snapped completely it will need replacing. not an easy DIY fix.
