Hi there – I have a 2 year old Nardi Fe0614 electric oven which has just started not working. The fan works but no heat is coming out of the oven – however the grill is still working. Any suggestions and is it straightforward to fix for a keen DIYer.
Your help would be greatly appreciated ! 😥

The fan element has almost certainly failed which can be found HERE

Power off before attempting repairs :zap:, it’ not too bad to do, you’ll find plenty of posts regarding fan element replacements here in the forums 😉

If you are unsure, check the repairs@ link below for an engineer.

    Re: Nardi FE0614 oven problems

Dave – thanks very much for your assistance. The part I ordered from you was fitted without any trouble yesterday and the oven works fine. 😀

One point though – on taking the oven out to repair I noticed it was actually plugged in to a ringmain socket behind the oven! Is this correct ?!? I thought it had to be a 30amp cooker socket. We haven’t had any problems with the oven before and as it is a brand new house I thought this would be all part of Building Regulations. 🙄

    I’d appreciate your advice again.

    Thanks

Yes, normally it’s fine for a single built in oven. Check on the rating plate, it should be no more than 3kw in total 🙂

Dave – from memory it is 2.4kW so sounds OK.
Many thanks for your assistance (again).

    Re: Nardi FE0614 oven problems

I have the same oven with the same problem

Before I found this forum I switched it off at the mains and unscrewed the back of the oven and found wires and switches with some kind of fluffy stuff.

I then climbed in the oven and found some more screws which held a panel covering the heating element and fan.

I unscrewed the element and disconnected the 3 spade connections. The element seams OK but i guess this is still the main problem with my oven not heating up.

I plugged the element back in and screwed it back up at the back of the oven and turned it on to see if was working again 😆 no heat at all but I can see the fan spinning.

I will get a new element and try that. But what would the symptoms be if the problem was with the thermostat ❓

    Re: Nardi FE0614 oven problems

you can do a simple continuity check on the element.

IIRC, you’re looking for 30 to40 ohms between the 2 terminals and infinity between either of them and the outer sheath (earth)

DO A SEARCH to check “heater resistance”- I’m too lazy, but, hey! I’m trying to help 😆

UNPLUG BEFORE YOU WORK ON THE APPLIANCE.

cheap multimeter probably available from Asda/lidl /agros /curry’s/maplin… about a fiver. or chat-up geeky neighbours 😆

the fluffy stuff was probably just that! fluff from the air circulated round the “works” to keep them from overheating.

    Re: Nardi FE0614 oven problems

Probably just the element that’s popped, certainly sounds like it.

It’s THIS ONE which is pretty cheap and a stock item.

But please, please don’t work on a machine while it’s live as it’s really not good for you health!

    K.
