ParticipantI have a Bendix 7123 washing machine which although a bit out of date now has had very little use. Unfortunately it has stopped working only mains warning light comes on and door lock clicks. Having a meter I decided to try and find where the fault is but do not know where to start, power is getting to programmer but from then on do not know. Can anyone help with a schematic or suggestion as to where to start looking for the fault.

Does the door actually lock after the click is heard ?
The chances of a manual are slim to none I’m afraid 🙁

Heck, I remember this one – it’s a neutral fault through the programme timer. Haven’t seen one in a good few years now. I think the timer is obsolete; it wasn’t a value for money repair when the machine was current.
Dave may be able to confirm that.
Sorry,

ParticipantCheers for the quick responses. Door does indeed lock. Full sequence of events if it would help; clothes went into machine, programme entered, turned on and machine filled, I then went out when I came back nothing further had happened.

ParticipantWhilst I thankyou both for your input, could I ask if there is a way of checking to ensure what you state is in fact the fault before the washing machine is dumped, as stated before I do have a meter to check voltages etc.

No easy way I’m afraid but pretty much all parts are now obsolete for this model…..
There is only really the timer and interlock that cause a “dead” fault like this and the interlock appears to be OK.
Don’t forget, power off if running more tests :zap:

Static heat after fill? Your initial post said it was dead, then you said it filled…. No heat at a static heat position would leave it dead – waiting for temperature rise.
Other possibility is the motor on the timer itself failing. This would give no motor action and no timer advance.
HTH,

ParticipantQuite right to think that yes indeed fault was not the original post, however advancing programme to empty did not do anything. After several attempts the machine will not do anything other than my original post. There is no motor rotation but as stated will not go into any programme even as before could just put something in for a final rinse it will not do anything but, Mains light on, Door lock engaging. Which is why I asked for confirmation, also lock has 3 wires attached 2 go to programmer and 1 where? a secondary safety switch/fireman switch? which is why I was after a schematic so I could trace circuits. Any ideas.
