    Re: Oven testing

    Hi Martin

the correct way to test a oven to BS standard is to turn the oven to 200oc for one hour with all shelfs ect taken out.

tempratures then can be taken fom all pointsof the door control panel knobs ect.

A full list of maximum tempratures and correct proceedure for the test can be e-mailed to you if you want them.

    hope this helps

    Hello Martin

Is it oven internal temperatures or external surface temperatures you are after? Bryan has given the basic method of doing the surface temperature test.

this takes a while but seem to work put therm probe in middle of oven set to low temp say 75 allow stat to cut in/out twice then take the next cut in and cut out reading average it and plot it against the knob setting turn up to 100 and repeat etc Ive had to do this a few times to prove stats were working ok and it has always put the customers mind at rest I think this procedure is in an old creda book somewhere.
