I’m interested to know what the ‘programmer’ is that you refer to. The Indesit Company engineers have this software loaded on their laptops. I am not aware of any other legitimate source.

    Re: software required

Having seen this eprom reprograming in action it merely consists of a laptop which is loaded (a) with the software appliacation , (b) the various emprom files ( of which there are many ) (c) the Port replicator which is used for diagnostics and is fed in line via usb.

Realistically I could not see that it would be financially viable for a single engineer to purchase the port replicator at way over a £100.00 and as far as the software and emprom files are concerned I understand that these are not available at least from any legitamate source. The emproms that the Hotpoint/Merloni engineers use are blank, the ones that we can purchase are already blown with the correct instructions for the appliance.

The most annoying aspect to my mind is that anyone purchasing Partfinder gets a much cut down version when compared with the version that the Hotpoint guys get issued with and the extra wiring charts, manuals, Tech Recall papers etc are very useful. Hotpoint should relook at the Partfinder Application and make a version which comes up to the standards set by TDS

Aye squadman, pigs will fly before this happens 😆 Life would be easier though. Elux obviously get a good return for their disk as we can all order the right spares and repair more appliances rather than scrap them. Hotpoints share of the market would make it viable for them also, they have always considered the spares market to be good revenue. 😉

Ah, thanks for your reply, pity really, I was hoping for a possible solution. It looks like I’m stuck with steering my customers in the ‘right’ direction. 😉

software to reprogramme chips should not be a problem the problem is the operating software to put on the chips

have got a programmer i bought years ago to programme satellite cards and it can programme most pic chips

    http://www.adteknik.se/english/mp35ser.htm

it will read chips as well but would have to find out if that chip can be read it may be read protected in which case we need a helpful engineer
