ParticipantHi folks
Does Anyone know if you can still get the Tacho Magnet (origional cracked and loose) for a Quatro Motor Pt.No 91212357. Connect saying its obsolete but can supply Tacho kit Pt No. 91212340.
According to their picture its only the coil asy. so does this mean it’s a new motor job? Or does anyone know different?
Model No. just in case you need it is AS136
Thanks

It is obsolete now yes, a new motor unless you can canibilise an old one.
Better still, does anyone have an old motor they can whip the magnet off of ?
😀Dave.

I have just changed one of these motors but i have found that the magnets are very difficult to get off without breaking. I will try and retrieve the old motor tomorrow and have a go.

Thanks for the help guys..
Customer can’t wait and mulling over new motor option.. looks like they might be getting a new m/c so put magnet retreval on hold and might try and retreve a couple on next motors I change as they are no longer availible..
Seems a dam shame people scraping a good working m/c because of small item that manifactures don’t or wont make avalible.. still that seems the nature of the bussiness these day’s 🙁
Thanks for the help..

No luck getting it off. It just broke into pieces. They are too brittle and too tight on the shaft. Little bar stewards.

Taking the magnets off the hoover motor inevitably (had to look that one up in the dictionary) breaks them.
If you have any old hotpoint 95 series motors, you can screw the old magnet off them, drill the right size hole in the middle and fit it to the hoover motor.
I have done this several times without any problems.Cheers.
