Happy New Year from UK Whitegoods!
I started writing this piece and simply thought, “where do I start and where do I end?”. This may seem like a trick question but it’s not, I promise you. 2006 was a whirlwind of a year for us, even more so that 2005 was in many ways and I have so many people to thank for their support, help and just dogged determination this past year I can’t fathom where to begin.
I guess that starting with basics is probably best.

Dave, David, Sean especially require thanks for their efforts on behalf of me and the trade in general, they all work tirelessly stupid hours for little or no reward other than the satisfaction of it and helping people. I can fault none of them.
The Moderators
Guys, you rock. Seriously, you really are unbelievable, the time you give up on the forums, the help you give people and the sheer dedication to improving the knowledge about the industry by sharing your own without so much as a second thought is just staggering. That help you give us is invaluable, the effects of the help you give to people needing it is self-evident.
The Members
Where would we be without you and your support in what we do. Thanks folks yet again for all you do and the support you freely offer to other trade members and public alike.
The Public
None of us would be here without the support that we recieve from the public as well as the business, thank you for using UK Whitegoods and choosing us for service, spares or just information. Hopefully this year we will be able to offer you still more.
2007
I’m not going to dwell on 2006, for those that have been following the site’s progress, the ups as well as the downs, you know all what’s gone on pretty much and I don’t want to be recounting history. No, instead I’d rather talk about what the future holds as it is always far more interesting than that which has already passed us by.
But we’ve ended on a high note, we now have our new server which has massively increased the response time of the site and helped us to achieve our busiest month ever in December 2006 with over 800,000 page views in a single month. I’m sure that will increase through 2007.
This year you are, yet again, going to see further evolution of UK Whitegoods with the site facelift coming early in the year as well as a new online spares store going live. Already you’ve seen ISE become a reality in the past year, expect more on that front soon enough as well.
We have had, over the past few weeks, the new UK Whitegoods appliance insurance being trialled with several people in the business and this is set to be an area that we increase in the coming months. If you are interested in this project please feel free to contact site admin. There’s also one or two things you might not expect on the way.
We’ve got the next meeting, slated for the end of February, being planned now and as we will have a new chairperson, the style will alter to a far more informal footing. If you fancy an interesting break from the norm you should try to get there. I’ll provide more details as they are available.
There’s more, lots more but I’m afraid you’ll just have to hang about and see what we come up with next if you want to find out.
2007 should be a good year I hope and I would like to wish you all the best for the coming year, may it offer you good health and prosperity.
