KeymasterI know we are all thinking along the lines of kicking Andy2 in the nuts and stamping on the fecker, but we have to be smarter than that.
Ken and I were discussing how we can solve the problem of the “andy2” scenario and came up with the forum being for sellers only + mods.
We weren’t particulary in a rush to do it, but I’ve now changed my mind on that and think we should do it asap.Hop we do it without the “andy2” kicking off is thus;
We post a new topic “Forum Access”
In it we advise that as the ISE project is now underway and all interested parties that were given access to the info within the forum have had a month to join as a participating seller. Therefore, from Monday 10th April the forum will be for participating agents only.We also explain that if any interested business wants to join the agents list in the future they will have to apply and be visited by JH, who will explain ISE and answer queries on a one to one basis. At which time, technical and training dates will be booked to preceed the first order.
That way, those who don’t read the forum are no wiser, those that do and are not sellers will have no recourse but to use the new system ie; a visit from JH.
This way will prevent anyone from kicking off, as all the info is still available to interested parties, just in a different delivery format. We should also add a link to the advert for ISE to speak to the MD JH phone number 07979 520916, and add email once the ISE are working (should I say “if” there?) 😆
This also means that those who are selling are the only ones to ask questions regarding the “new” electronic ordering system that is being delivered by Different, for 1st May.
I just won’t be able to deal with stupid questions from andy2 for much longer.Kevin

One for Ken to sort I’m afraid, I can’t create new “usergroups” as far as I can see, I can create new forums and hide them etc but I’d rather Ken did it, and I’m sure he would as well 😆

Nope, it smacks of being too reactionary. At least a three month lead time is required IMO.
Email away to Li to set upa catch-all account for ISE for now till we sort it out entirely.
Advert for John, not a problem if people read it. I have my doubts that they will as they don’t read feck all else that is far more prominent.
Andy2, ignore him. I’ll deal with that prat. He hasn’t responded to the last mail I sent him and instead went straight back onto the forum to ask questions, but I think that he’s exhausted that thread now.

We will have to agree to disagree on that, 3 months IMO is far to long. Therefore I for one won’t reply to non seller questions at all, and I’ll reply to seller questions via a PM message only. If I reply at all.

Launching any thing, a Product, a brand, an idea, is all about confidence and credibility. We are costing ourselves both time and customers the more we allow people who have no real intention of being involved to erode others confidence and sow seeds of doubt in peoples minds.
The job is hard enough as it is with out 5 th coloumnist’s in the ranks. Sorry but I have to agree with Kev on this one.

KeymasterRe: access to the ISE forum
I was up last night thinking about this a bit and there’s a couple of things here that need answering…
If we close the forum to anyone not involved then how do we garner the interest and maintain it?
How do we then get messages to those who may not be buying but are interested?
Are we that sensitive on the subject that we are not prepared to allow disenters to have thier say?
Does this make it look as if we have something to hide?
Are we, as Kevin said yesterday to me in response to another line, allowing two or three people steer what we do?
Does the negative outweigh the positive?
I honestly think that we have to think this tact through very thoroughly before we react as the wrong reaction could end up being very harmful indeed. At this stage, after the interest we’ve built in the forum and its content, I am actually starting to think that effectively shutting it down may be a grieveous error.
I would suggest that we cool our heels for a coupe of weeks and discuss this further when we meet. That also gives time for the dust to settle and John to have a look through what’s been said, if there’s nothing to answer at that stage then we just leave it.
I just feel that we are only doing this due to the crap that Andy, Jeremy and to some extent Bryan have posted and I don’t think that they should determine how we run things.

We have a 50/50 split then on this as I tend to agree with Ken to be honest. As I said in the other thread, to stop or restrict would seem to be us on the defense or worse still stiffling opinion.
Open, honest and allowing free speach from the start is what UKW has always been and yes, I know ISE is a different kettle of fish as far as business is concerned before you all rip my knackers off, but and the big but is ISE will always be a UKW project as far as the guys on the site are concerned. It’s of little consequence to them whether it’s a seperate company.
We need feedback whether that may be good, bad, indifferent or pure shite even if it does get on my/our tits 😉
IMO, if we try to stop the critics then we are no better than those WP’s etc that we have all battled with for doing much the same thing.
The answers thus far have been spot on and the guys that I have spoken to on the phone or by PM/email have shown undying support…..
I dunno, I may be off the mark but 😕
