hi, newbie, looks an informative site
seven yrs old, infrared grill stopped working and noisy fan, anyway removed from kitchen unit made safe and then i removed the top cover to expose the fan and controls. the fan looks like a small cylindrical lawnmover blade and was grating on its cover “and my nerves “
the non drive end bearing is housed in a grommet and looked worn so i simply rotated it and the fan rotated freely without grating, however
one i put it all back together and slotted it back in the kitchen unit it tripped my main fuse unit on switching on, bad earth i assume, not an appliance engineer just a tinkerer. think i tinkered it to death
not sure if the thermocouple? is dead either!
    any helpfull advice much appreciated
    regards

You’ve trapped or shorted a lead or knocked a terminal off I expect that’s shorting against the casing :zap:

If you’re unsure, click on the repairs@ link below for an engineer to sort out for you 🙂

    Dave.
