    Correct 😉

If the drum shaft is damaged it’s a complete inner and outer tub change, three versions and all between £90 and £100 ex VAT list 🙁

Worth a check though just in case, the “same noise again” may well be the customer trying to get a freebie 😉

Went back to a W113 the other day after having replaced module and pump and then customer rang about banging noise and I began to think, “Oh no, not spider now!”
Turned out to be suspension leg bottom end had cracked cabinet (very thin metal) just like 95 Hotpoints did. Will be going back with improvised restraint bracket.

Thanks, just what I needed this time of the night 😆

According to Partfinder it goes like this:

Two outer tub depths of either 34cm or 29.5cm and then the inner drum shaft size (measured at the pulley end) of either 17mm or 20mm. A correct combination of those will identify the correct one. The serial number is useless in this case.

I loathe Merloni with a vengeance for this sort of nonsense, why not just call the bloody thing a WM13 instead if the drum has been changed or even a WM12/1 would be a little easier, utter shite 👿

    Rant over 😀

Had a couple of these recently. Having replaced bearings around 9 months ago they went again but managed to get them to buy replacement whirlpool 1200’s with a £20 reduction. Have now stopped repairing bearings on these and Aristons ‘cos they aint worth it.Flog ’em a new one I say!!!!
    P.S. I like Whirlpool

I would like to echo Dave’s and Robbra’s sentiments over these Indesit/Ariston heaps of junk. With little exception, when you accept a call to attempt a fix, something else goes wrong within the guarantee period you have provided your customer. Be it a bearing repair or a module replacement or whatever, when they go belly up again your customer thinks you are to blame.

Drum bearing repairs now? Not me, won’t touch ’em, not worth the agro. 🙁

If I applied such selectiveness to what I would work on then I think I would have to extend my territory considerably to get enough work.
However I do see your point and I do turn away some work these days because I can’t find the time/energy to do it all.
