With RF tags finding their way into an increasing number of consumer goods, appliance manufacturers such as Merloni are capitalising on the trend.
Several consumer goods manufacturers, such as Gillette, have started to tag their products in recent months with (FR) radio frequency microchips, which contain and transmit product data, in order to increase security and enhance logistics control. Picking up on this “smart tagging” trend, domestic appliance manufacturer Merloni Elettrodomestici said it would fit several of its Ariston brand appliances with antennas that can read the information on these tags.
