Buy a pair of ordinary long nose pliers, put them in a vice, heat the end from the tips to about two inches down the jaws, until they are cherry red then bend the jaws with a hammer at 90 degrees. let them cool for about five minutes then cool them in water. You then have a pair of bent nose pliers that are brilliant for removing hotpoint carbons and are better than corbin pliers for removing and refitting corbin clips.
I know you can buy bent nose pliers from some places, but I have never came across any.

    Cheers.

I just use a small flat bladed right angle screwdriver to depress the GDA brush holder securing lug then slide them out, without having to remove the motor, all of two seconds a side. 🙂

long nose locking pliers (halfords £8), work like mole grips, great for removing those sump hose clips etc. once pliers are locked in place clip then stays there, frees up both hands.
