ParticipantHi,
How easy/difficult is this motor to fit? Can it be done without dismantling the tub?
I would appreciate a part number for this motor if you have one.
Thanks
Laurence

Very easy job, depending on the installation of course 🙄
Remove side panels, front panel and the plate holding the loom in place and rhs door spring. Take out the torx screws at front and rear holding tank to base. Then hinge tank over to gain access.
To remove motor a plastic spring clip holds it in place at about one o’clock position, just push and twist motor off. EASY EH 😀

Motor – 266520
Seal kit – 165813 you WILL need this too.

Thanks Boro,
The motor is leaking into the base. Is it ok to just change the seal unit or does this get complicated with corrosion etc.

It should be fairly straightforward just to change the Impellor/ Seal Kit to cure unless the motor has got noisy and rust marks are apparent?
I have had 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} success just changing the Impellor/seal Kit myself. I’ve even replaced a rusted ball-race on some motors successfully too! 🙂
Unlike boro, I personally find it easier to unhook both door springs, unhook the water matrix, remove the door from its hinges and lift the entire tub off and clear. Rather than struggling with half of the bits still attached. That gives you full and easy access to the lot then 😉

Yeah if it’s just leaked to base then seal kit should solve it no problem.
As Martin says as long as there is no noise from bearing you’ll be ok.

I usually do same as Boro but put appliance on its back on workmate, much easier. No hassle, easy man!
