    I have a 3 year old Ariston A1234 1200 spin washing machine which has an awful burring/drilling noise when the pump is in operation.

    I have had the pump apart and there is no debris and I can assure you that it is now immaculatey clean in there. I have checked for any movement on the paddles and they were firmly attached.

    Can anyone help as it is driving us mad especially when we put the machine on at night.

    The mgnetic armature wears in the plastic housing and can make a helluva row. Order one of these:

    from the shop and peace and quiet will be restored.

    It’s not supposed to do that, that’s why you need to buy a whole new unit as Penguin45 indicates 😉

    many thanks – in fact the last post i tried to delete because the plastic part that I mentioned it detaches from is not part of the unit – my mistake.

    I assumed that you had split the motor unit from the housing, which is why I linked you to just the motor assembly.

    You’ve got to be a Moderator before you can delete other people’s posts on this site 😀 .
