Probably a problem with the defrost cycle. If the defrost elements are not coming on then they will just sit there until it has defrosted by using the room temperature. While it is on defrost the temperature display will be locked on the last known temperature before the defrost started. Switching off at the mains resets everything and it will work until it next goes onto a defrost.
Ask the owner if the freezer temperaure suddenly changes when they switch it off and back on.
Can be caused by either the fridge or freezer side but most I have seen have been a problem in the fridge. 🙂April 16, 2006 at 2:27 pm #173191agro
ParticipantI will see if he has checked the elements if they are ok then may be fridge sensor or defrost timer he’s already changed the module . Is the defrost built into the module? if it is then must be a probe Cheers Flyman

Defrost timings are done by the module. Check elements and thermal fuses (wired in series with elements alongside evaporators). Main element and drain element are wired in parallel but can be split with a plug so you can test individually. Always check both fridge and freezer sides. If the thermal fuse has gone it is worth replacing the defrost sensor mounted at the top of the evaporator as it is probably that which has caused the element to stay on too long.

ParticipantI have and there lovely and easy mind you its just been seized compressors.
When changing a compressor order relay and klixon as these sometimes fail as well at the same time as the compressore fails.
These dont come with the compressor which seems the norm with all these korean compressors manufactuers. -
