I’ve found today that my grill seems to have developed a fault.

It lights OK but after a minute or so, there is a wumpff sound (is that how you spell wumpff) and the flame goes out as if the flame has been blown out from the supply side. If I try to reignite it may wumpff again or may light for a few seconds before going out again.

I have tried all four hobs and the oven and all are working fine.

    Any suggestions?

    Model is Parkinson Cowan SIG320

    Thanks in advance,

    Darren

The regulator may need replacing or possibly the jet is corroded or air flow needs a tweak.. ❓

All of the above need a local CORGI registered engineer to take a look at it for you. You might like to click on the link below to see if we have one in your area?

I doubt its jet more likely the grill mesh is clogged with fat spatterings etc.
Probably best repair would be to change grill burner assembly. This however would have to be undertaken by a Corgi engineer.

the actual grill (meshed area) will have split, if you look close enough, you should be able to see a rip in the burner somewhere
this causes in inbalance between the air and gas mixture as the burner warms up.

It will need a new burner assembly and you will need a corgi engineer to fit it

    Thanks for the responses.

Any idea what it’s likely to cost me?

Burner is just under £40 plus VAT. You should discuss the fitting charges with your CORGI engineer as part of booking a call.
